PRIVACY POLICY

ChatterFire (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the ChatterFire platform, including the website at chatterfire.live and the ChatterFire desktop software (collectively, the “Platform”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our Platform.
By using ChatterFire, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our Platform.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
1.1 Account Information
When you create a producer account or apply to join ChatterFire, we collect:
- Full name and producer name / stage tag
- Email address
- Encrypted password (we never store plaintext passwords)
- Genre preference and years of experience
- Portfolio or SoundCloud links you provide
- Profile photo (optional, if uploaded)
- Short biography (optional)
1.2 Battle and Performance Data
To operate the competitive league system we collect:
- Battle records including wins, losses, and points
- Season statistics (reset each season) and all-time statistics
- Vote counts from live battles
- No-show incidents and disciplinary records
- Beat file uploads submitted as part of the application process
- DAW project files submitted in response to AI Challenge filings
1.3 Payment Information
ChatterFire uses Stripe to process all payments, including the $5 application fee, membership subscriptions, and software purchases. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or full payment details on our servers. Stripe stores and processes this data under their own Privacy Policy. We receive only a transaction confirmation and the last four digits of your card for display purposes.
1.4 Communications
We use Resend to send transactional and marketing emails, including application confirmations, membership updates, battle invitations, no-show warnings, and promotional announcements. Your email address is shared with Resend solely to deliver these communications. You may opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.
1.5 Software and Device Data
The ChatterFire desktop software collects:
- License key and activation timestamp
- A hardware fingerprint (machine ID) used solely to enforce the two-device activation limit
- Your selected DAW and audio routing configuration
- Software version and operating system type for support purposes
1.6 Usage and Log Data
Like most web services, our servers automatically record:
- IP address and approximate geographic location
- Browser type and version
- Pages visited and time spent
- Referring URL
- Error logs and crash reports
2. COOKIE POLICY
ChatterFire uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate and improve the Platform.
2.1 Essential Cookies
These cookies are required for the Platform to function. They include session authentication tokens and security tokens. You cannot opt out of essential cookies while using the Platform.
2.2 Analytics Cookies
With your consent, we use analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the website — which pages are popular, how long sessions last, and where traffic originates. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
2.3 Preference Cookies
These cookies remember your choices, such as your cookie consent decision, so we do not repeat prompts on return visits.
2.4 Your Cookie Choices
On your first visit you will see a cookie consent banner. You may accept all cookies or decline non-essential cookies. You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser cookies or contacting us. Note that declining analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use any ChatterFire feature.
3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your producer account
- Process applications, payments, and membership renewals
- Operate the battle, scoring, and leaderboard systems
- Send transactional emails such as application confirmations and battle invitations
- Send marketing communications (with your consent, and always with an unsubscribe option)
- Enforce the platform rules including the no-show policy and AI production policy
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- Comply with legal obligations
- Improve and develop the Platform
4. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
ChatterFire integrates with the following third-party platforms to deliver live battle streaming and viewer engagement features. When a battle goes live on these platforms, certain battle metadata (producer names, league name, vote counts) may be shared with them:
4.1 TikTok Live
ChatterFire may stream live battles to TikTok and ingest viewer comments and gifting events via the TikTok Live Gift API. Your use of TikTok is governed by TikTok's Privacy Policy. ChatterFire is not responsible for TikTok's data practices.
4.2 YouTube Live
Battles may be streamed to YouTube. Viewer comments and Super Chat events may be ingested for the vote system via the YouTube Live Chat API. Your use of YouTube is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
4.3 Twitch
Battles may be streamed to Twitch. Viewer chat events may be ingested via Twitch EventSub. Your use of Twitch is governed by Twitch's Privacy Notice.
4.4 Stripe
Payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc. Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
4.5 Resend
Email delivery is handled by Resend. See Resend's Privacy Policy.
5. DATA RETENTION
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Platform. If you request account deletion (see Section 6), we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law (for example, payment records required for tax compliance, which are retained for 7 years).
Beat files uploaded during the application process are retained for 90 days after a decision is made, then permanently deleted. DAW project files submitted in response to AI Challenge filings are retained for 12 months after the case is closed, then permanently deleted.
6. DATA DELETION REQUESTS
You have the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time. To submit a deletion request:
- Email us at info@chatterfire.live with the subject line "Data Deletion Request"
- Include the email address associated with your ChatterFire account
- We will confirm receipt within 5 business days and complete deletion within 30 days
Note: Deleting your account will permanently remove your producer profile, battle history, season records, and all associated personal data. This action is irreversible. Your all-time statistics will be anonymized and may be retained in aggregate form for historical accuracy of the leaderboard.
7. DATA SECURITY
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS/HTTPS), bcrypt password hashing, and JWT-based authentication with short-lived tokens. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you use the Platform at your own risk.
8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
ChatterFire is intended for individuals aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that an individual under 18 has created an account, we will terminate the account and delete any associated data promptly.
9. YOUR RIGHTS
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate personal data
- Request deletion of your personal data (see Section 6)
- Object to or restrict certain processing of your data
- Data portability — receive your data in a structured format
- Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time

10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify active members by email and update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
